This is my first post even tho being a member for some time now. What looks like a light under the hood of my ‘04 LJ, it has a opaque lens cover. Have asked my mechanic friend and he really didn’t know. Anyone know?

That is an OEM under hood light. The opacity is likely from heat and age.
Here's a Doorman replacement, for reference.
Thanks! I’ll look for one. Assumed it was probably a light that would activate when the hood was opened
Just replace the bulb. Water gets in there and blows it. Simple fix.

Just love my LJ come winter! Put on a new set of KO2’s last summer in time for a winter storm the middle of October. Got about 15” of heavy wet snow. Now that it is getting nice again will post some new pics

@Wayne Mathson , if you do get an LED bulb, get one like THIS that has the wire loops twisted on the ends instead of the normal straight loop. The twist will cause the LEDs to aim correctly towards your engine bay instead of the side of the light housing.
I have a bulb like those in mine and it works well.
