What lift do I have?

Hi, Happy with my TJ now that the steering wander is fixed ( still a minor issue with too much play in the upper part of the steering gear box, Ill fix that this spring). Looking to upgrade my shocks, the rears are starting to leak and the part number is obsolete (Zone 5348 X154J3). The PO said it was a 4" lift but I have my doubts since I see a 2" puk on the front coils and none on the rear (would explain why it seems to be going up hill). So I need a little help with figuring this out. A. How do I determine what the state of the lift is ( is it partial, did the PO just put taller shocks and a couple puks and call it good). B. What do I need to look at and or measure to figure what I have. C. What would you do to make it right. I don't do heavy wheeling, but I want better than stock. I'm riding on 33's for now and the front end has been sorted and aligned. Attached a picture of a front coil puk (they look like they were cut down, you can see saw marks). Measure the length of the springs and spacer. Do not include the factory rubber isolator. This will tell us how much taller over stock you are

12" in the front is factory height, so anything above that is the lift you have in the front
8" in the rear is the factory height, so anything above that is the lift you have in the rear

Don't assume that the front and rear have the same amount of lift

Example

15" front would mean 3" of lift
11" rear would mean 3" of lift

Thanks for the fast replies. Well Damn baby it's cold outside, I'll remeasure when she's in the garage. Front measures 14 1/2" spring and 2" spacer for a total of 16 1/2". Rear Measures 13", so my guess would be 4 to 5 inch lift. I'll get a better measurement and then I'll know for certain. So once I have an accurate measurement the shock size will be based off stock size plus the lift?

Yes kind of. What length are your bump stop spacers? There is a bit that goes into a proper and safe suspension setup.

Ok not what I was expecting to see, I would have thought they were mounted to the bottom inside the coil. What I see are bump stops that are part of the spacer and it measures 3". 3" makes sense because you can see where probably 1" was hack sawed off the top of the spacer. I'll get a picture of it later, definitely molded in one piece not sure who makes them.

Had to walk the pups, so I remeasured and front coil is 14" plus spacer is 16". The bump stop is molded to the spacer and is 3". The rear coil is 13". The back end still seems lower by an inch or so, but whatever. Pics are the front coil with bump stop on top and mount for bump stop on bottom.

OK now I'm wondering is what I assumed to be a bump stop attached to the 2" Spacer on top, a bump stop? Maybe it's part of the spring tower that the bump stop cup attaches to. If this is the case I'm probably missing the bump stop cup and jounce bumper. A little help here please.

Hi not really one to bump my own thread, so sorry if not allowed. I'm hoping by the previous pictures you guys could tell me if or what I should get to make this lift more correct/safe. I'm ready to order the shocks but I think I need bump stops as well and looking for recommendations. I'm really happy for all the help here so far and I will try to help others with what I've learned. There's interesting stuff here too, just saw a video posted on death wobble that should have been cut short after showing what it looks like. After that it was some sketchy looking stuff, glad I wasn't alone in questioning what they were thinking.
