One of the upgrades I plan for my jeep are a good AGM and the full big three+ wiring, plus higher output alternator. The secondary battery will be for camping accessories only.
I have purchased two interstate AGM batteries for two different cars mostly because I get a nice discount at work. Before that I used to swear by the old red tops.
The interstate AGM units have proven to be very good. I had one go below 4 volts this past winter and I was able to bring it back up without issues. No loss of amperage or voltage after or charging capability.
