Who knew there is a rubber pad here?

I picked up some TJ grills for a table project. One of the grills had a beautiful rubber pad that the hood can rest on and perhaps make a better contact. I have never seen this on any other TJ and assume they must bite dust early in their life. This one was flawless and now graces my sled.

That's pretty sweet! I'm thinking there may have been one on the one new TJ I bought back in '97, but I don't recall seeing one since.

Actually found it. Looks like it may have been on early TJs, but not later ones. It's a discontinued part that doesn't even show up on drawings for later TJs. But, it is Mopar 55036368AB.

Digging in a bit more, it may have only been on 97-98 models.
