Will the ZJ steering mod help death wobble?

Are there any specifics I should ask of the tire shop or should I just explain I need them to be careful? Maybe a weight range or stick on outer weights vs inner weights on the bead?

Go to a shop experienced in balancing large Jeep size tires. Call 4x4 shops that install and balance tires, they'll have more experience balancing larger tires like yours. The bigger the tire the more perfectly it needs to be balanced.

+1↑. I tried 2 different tire dealers tire shops before I called an offroad shop and asked who they used. Their recommendation was spot on. I have also found it pays to be very finicky about exact tire pressure on all four. My Jeep's TP sweet spot is 25lbs. Exactly on all four. Never trust a tire shop to fill your tires. Carry a good quality analog (old school) and manage your tire pressure. Don't get a gauge that reads from 0-100. Being off so much as an RCH on a broad scale can be a few pounds. BTW, to respond to the title of the thread, while my stock steering was in serviceable condition, I like the steering better since I ripped it all out and installed all new ZJ parts and an adjustable trackbar. Placebo? Perhaps, but I "feel" it is better. Last bit of advice. The average digital tire pressure gauges are about as accurate as kicking the tires with your Chuck Taylor clad hooves.

I did lower the pressure to 21 before I buried it in the sand and sandblasted the finish off of the front right rim by spinning it. I just set it back to 25-26. I use the gauge on my viair 88p and check that against my mini 0-50lbs pen style gauge. They seem to agree.

However, I just realized that since my lay off and my TJ being my work vehicle, parts and upgrades are now Auto Expenses I enter into QuickBooks against my side hustle profits. I'm thinking I order ZJ steering and maybe the trackbar bushings mentioned in this thread.

When I go out in the sand I lower the pressure to 10-12lbs tops. Any more than that and it digs down as much as it moves forward. At 10lbs I glide over the sand.

BTW, if the tire shop has to put too much weight in one spot, they should break the tire off the bead and spin it 180°. It may make a big difference. Did on one of mine. A lazy dude will just keep heaping lead on the rim without a care in the world. Find a good shop and know, compliments and tips are appreciated and remembered.

I went in to the same Discount Tire that installed these tires in November. They said the balance was out on all tires. They went from inner bead mount weights to stick on weights. Granted, I took it out and got it stuck in the sand in January and could have sheered some weights off.
I took it for a drive. I didn't experience any of the occasional wobble. The general chaos on the highway is gone. It seems like this was the fix.

It feels good to get this off my list of issues. Now I am done to two smaller issues. I did the first half of Mr. Blaines's break in procedure to see if it gets rid of the squeak in my Thermo Quiets on the way home from Discount.
Then I will look at the very slight hitch in my gitup at idle.
