Window straps

The straps that keep your rear window rolled did not come with my Jeep. I didn’t notice it until now. I see they’re available online, but for $20 w/ shipping. I’ll pay it if I have to, but was wondering if anyone has done or can up with an alternate solution.

If I do end up buying a pair, I’ll probably go with these, as they look like a much better solution to keep it up and tight.

I’m not removing the rear window completely. The zipper is roached.

I have a hard top now but when I got my TJ 3 years ago the rear straps were broken. I made something similar to the ones in your link from a Home Depot button snap kit (there was a male snap already present on the top) and a Walmart strap kit. By the time you’re done you may have $15 invested but at least you can fix it when it breaks again.

I used a piece (2) of strapping strap cut from a ratchet tie down. I put Velcro on the ends to hold it all together.

Thanks for the tips. I talked to Quadratec, who are being cool enough to waive their shipping charge on these OEM style straps.

I still think the design I linked to was better, but whatever, I’m getting them cheaper.
