Wipers stopped working - where to start?

As has become the norm for my shitbox (98 Sahara), went out today for a little spin and came back with a new problem: the wipers stopped working. The spray function is fine, but no matter what I do, the wipers will not wipe. Thoughts on what I can check (fuse, plugs, etc)? Thanks.

take the cowl off and smack the wiper motor w/ the back of a wrench (while it's on).
I’ll give it a shot.

Any idea what the fuse number is on a 98 for the wipers, and if that same fuse powers the spray pump as well (aka if the spray still works can it even be the fuse)?

Unplug the motor and test for power at the plug with a multimeter.

If no power check the normal things like fuse, broken wire, etc

If you have power, whack like advised ( or hit it first since it's faster if U like), make sure U have good contact when plugging it back in, then look at replacing motor. Can find them cheaper new on Amazon, etc..

Fuse first , then check for power at the motor , then switch , then the circuit . Also wiggle then to see if the linkage is frozen/binding .. it can happen
