TJ gets around a lot better than a 1 ton on wet ground. It’s my pipe locating rig now. D handle shovel and pickaxe fits on the bumper like it’s meant to be.

We have a neighbor who has a "maverick" locator. We hire him to help locate before we do tiling. Saves lots of digging and guessing.
We use the LJ to survey fields also:
it works slick. Used to run a different real out of the back of a pickup, but you often (usually) had to unload it to get it where you needed it. That required a second set of hands or machinery.
With this setup I can get the jeep as close to the hole as I want and run it off the hitch carrier. It’s also easy enough for one guy to mount and dismount without assistance, simply tilt the reel up and slide it onto the carrier / vise versa to remove.
Also keeps the locator inside the vehicle instead of in the back of a truck bed where it could easily grow legs.
