This yoke did not come with install instructions and it came straight out of the Spicer box like this. No keeper in the center during shipping. It doesn’t appear to have any grit inside where the needle bearings live and they all look fine…

My question is should I add more grease to it before install?

If yes, what type of grease?

It’s the non-greasable part so whatever grease is in there will be all she gets. I’m new at this, but I know the u-joints specifically say do not add grease under the caps. Thanks for the help.

Why does it appear that there's a hole all the way through? I just rebuilt mine last night though and didn't add any grease.

I've usually coated the top with extra grease. You want a grease with high moly content. CV-2 red line synthetic grease with red moly would be appropriate for that joint.. The grease thats in there is also holding the needle bearings in place, wouldnt hurt to check to see if you're missing any though.
