Dumb question, where does this wire go?

Hello all,

2000 Jeep Wrangler TJ

I just replaced the passenger fender,.
And as I was putting it back together I found this extra unplugged wire that I have shown here laying on the battery. I cannot for the life of me to find where it plugs into. Can one of you shed some light on this for me.

It could be that it is 95 degrees and I am a bit woosey from the sun and working outside in it.

Did I maybe leave the other half of the wire harness under the battery or lost under some thing? I did take everything out.

Check around the sides and bottom of your battery. TJ's have a battery temperature sensor. Is your TJ throwing a code?

Yep, that's what I'm thinking too.

I will look! Thanks,. Could be it fell down under the battery tray when I had it out, it is throwing a code, but I assumed it was the same EVAP I have been having the past few weeks. Sigh, I be looked around the battery, I'll just have to take it out again..

If it's throwing a code and you have a spare connector, I'm betting the temp sensor is your issue.

Does the Jeep start? There is a pigtail like that that plugs into a wire that goes through the battery cable loom down to the starter for the key. Just in case I am right the other end of that should be in front of your battery between your battery and the fuse box.

I think I found it. I have a photo I talked when I was taking it apart that shows the sensor on the bottom of the battery tray. The sensor sitting on my workbench that's why I couldn't find where plugged into. Just a matter of taking the battery out putting the sensor back in and plugging it in thanks all for your help.
