I’m not a mail carrier, I just like this TJ. I even swapped it over to a manual shift from an automatic.
Isn't that counterproductive?I even swapped it over to a manual shift from an automatic.
Naw, driving on the right side of the road is perfectly logical unlike driving on the wrong side of the road.Anyway something is sckewiff if you have to use a RHD vehicle to deliver mail on a right side drive system?
I deliver both mail and newspapers. Mail is delivered during the day and a RHD vehicle is needed. Newspapers are delivered at 2-4am with no traffic so you can drive on the wrong side of the road (here in the US) and blast your music as loud as you want to. Newspapers get better Christmas tips though. I average $6,000 in tips for newspapers. Mail= people just bitch.

That's a valid question but I want to ask, how many people receiving the newspaper does it take to get $6000 in tips? How many people still get a newspaper in 2021?
Boog - do your patrons know about these tips???That's a valid question but I want to ask, how many people receiving the newspaper does it take to get $6000 in tips?
You know just how natural it is to change gear left hand left foot with dominant hand on the steering wheel. No way man, it completely improved the way this thing drives. Not a single regret.
Yep I see now we deliver with step through motorbikes.Naw, driving on the right side of the road is perfectly logical unlike driving on the wrong side of the road.

We used to leave it in the mailbox until someone caught on and cleaned out the whole neighborhood worth of tips.I’m a little more curious how they tip the newspaper delivery guy when he runs between 2-4 am…
Besides how many people here in the US can say they have a standard shift RHD. Makes for a great conversation piece. You know just how natural it is to change gear left hand left foot with dominant hand on the steering wheel.

So, I ordered the Dorman cylinder and rekey kit. The new one came with the wafers and I figured I'd just key it to my old key and swap out the cylinders. Thanks all. Sorry I wasn't clear-I already replaced the ignition cylinder when the original failed. I was and still am looking for just the tumbler set. They used to come in a kit from Napa that you could use to rekey about 20 locks, it was just wafers and springs. Thought I found it from a locksmith supply source but the wafers are slightly larger.
Think I'll just order the dorman part and scavenge wafers from it. I get irritated having a door and tailgate key and an ignition key- couple that with a Cherokee key and I end up using the wrong damn key about 30% of the time.
That’s awesome man!
