I vote paint it!Picked up an aluminum bumper from UCF during their Black Friday sale. Delivered yesterday. Canāt decide. Should I paint it black or run it as is? My rear bumper is black steel. Heres a pic of my current setup for reference.

I was leaning towards painting it. But I do like the aluminum look like in the pic below. So painting aluminumā¦degreaser, scotch rite maroon sanding, acetone, primer, then paint? Is that correct?I vote paint it!
The good thing about keeping it raw is paint won't chip. Cleaning it up is as simple as hitting it with a scotch brite pad. I ran mine that way for a while, but ended up not liking the contrast. If you're unsure, just run it raw for a while and see how you like it. Removing and painting it later isn't a big deal.I was leaning towards painting it. Hilarious movie!
Even if you leave it unpainted you should still clear coat it. Same amount of work.I was leaning towards painting it. But I do like the aluminum look like in the pic below. So painting aluminumā¦degreaser, scotch rite maroon sanding, acetone, primer, then paint? Is that correct?

PO's are the worst. Mine put... no wait that was me. Oh, he did... nope, that was me too. It's me, I'm the worst...Fixed my first electrical gremlin in my 'new to me' 2004 Rubicon! Bought it on 11/30/2021 and when I turned the lights on, the right turn signal indicator was solid. Searched the threads high and low and seems like there are many who have experienced this in some way or another. Some never fixed the issue and others fixed it with a simple bulb swap. I fixed mine by discovering that when a PO installed a new grill they screwed it in and one of the screws hit the wiring bundle that runs through the top of the grill. I had a feeling it was a grounding issue, but just shook my head when I discovered someone had exposed 5 wires with that grill install. Appreciate this forum and hope to contribute! Cheers and happy Friday!
Move the Dagmars over from the old bumper!I was leaning towards painting it. But I do like the aluminum look like in the pic below. So painting aluminumā¦degreaser, scotch rite maroon sanding, acetone, primer, then paint? Is that correct?
