So, I have an Advance Adapters SYE for the NP231 (P/N 50-7906). It doesn't have hardware to attach the DS to the yoke.

It isn't installed, so I haven't gotten a driveshaft yet. Will a Tom Woods drive shaft come with the hardware to mate the two together or do I need to buy bolts/straps/U-bolts on my own to do that? Just looking ahead and make sure I have everything I need whenever that time comes.

I have the same combo but I can’t remember which one it came with. Tom woods has a section on their driveshaft page that says they recommend ordering a new set of straps and bolts though, so that would tell me they probably don’t come with the driveshaft.

TW shafts do not come with the hardware but you can order them along with your shaft. That's what I did.

they supplied new bolts for the sye yoke connection with the shaft, IIRC.
Well dang it, now you got me second guessing. I know the shaft didn't come with the differential end hardware (straps etc.) I wanna say the bolts for the T-case yoke came with my SYE from JB... it's been a few years, and I've slept since then...

The yoke with the SYE is not threaded. I'm guessing the TW DS would be threaded and you use bolts, or do you use a U-bolt on that end?

Just had my sye apart today to repair a slow weep leak on tail shaft housing. Tom Woods shaft that I received came with 4 cap screw for the cv end. Re-used straps and cap screws on the diff end.
So, the driveshaft end is threaded? Bolts going through the SYE yoke and threaded into the driveshaft end?

Can confirm, both my TW shafts came with the yoke bolts for the CV end of the shaft. I think they even gave me new bolts when I sent a shaft to them to be balanced, because I have a clean unused set in my toolbox.

They did NOT come with hardware for pinion end.

I think the differentiator is that bolts come for whichever end has threads to accept the bolts.

From what I remember on my recent order (for the front) it did come with the transfer case bolts, the straps for the pinion yoke were optional but recommended.
Good to hear. When the time comes to order the driveshaft, I may go ahead and order a couple sets of the bolts for the CV end just so I have some on hand if needed.

I have a couple sets of straps and bolts in my stash of parts.

You probably have these tools, but it’s a lot easier to install the upper two bolts through the TCase yoke and thread into the DC shaft if you have a stubby 8mm or 5/16”. Otherwise you have to roll the rig. TW should come with 4 new bolts for the TCase end.

Thanks for the tip. I do have both of those. (y)

This may be my least favorite tj task. I wish a ratcheting wrench would fit. Even the stubby doesn't take out as much of the aggravation for me. And now with my UCF skid I don't have the window I used to use for the lower bolts.

You're not wrong. I can't tell you how many different types of wrenches I've tried to make this task easier/ faster. Still stuck with the open end turning 45° per turn.🙄
