Im currently looking at a 2001 Jeep Wrangler Sport 2door 4.0l selling for 5k and I want to know if that is a good deal? I also want to know if it would cost a lot to maintain?

Im looking at the car for a daily driver and to go off road sometimes.

- Comes with Bikini top and soft top, the hard cover top is damaged.
- New LED headlights

- New battery
- New brakes 6 months ago
- Claims to have No rust
- Mostly original parts
- Tires are about 3 yrs old
- Boss digital radio with screen
- Boss speakers
- Aftermarket bumper

I'd want to know what the frame looks like. If it truly does not have rust, then yeah, it's a heck of a deal. I paid more for my 97 with 145kish miles.

There will definately be maintenance costs associated, as there would be with any 20ish year old vehicle. If you're the type of person who likes tinkering on the weekends and the frame is in good shape, go for it. The photos look good.

Just be aware that there will likely be some upfront maintenance costs (you always find something that needs attention on older vehicles!), but if it is in good shape currently, it shouldn't be bad getting it up to snuff.

I'm certainly not even close to expert but this looks pretty good for $5k compared to some I've seen recently. Is it a Florida Jeep?

True story. Like NotNSUV said, get your cash together, go check it out, and buy it if there is no rust and it is in good shape. It won't last long at that price.
..and then come back here an we'll all help you spend a LOT more money. Seriously though, it looks like a nice driver for your needs as it is. Just prepare yourself, JEEP is an incurable disease, not a hobby.

It's a twenty year old vehicle. The maintenance costs will be above what a late model import econobox would have.

What kind of commute do you have? These things get terrible MPG.

It looks good from afar but is it far from good? You'll have to inspect it closely.

Ask for the Yankees hat to be included in the sale, then burn it in front of them.
I'm on my way to Miami as we speak. Got cash in hand. 16 hour drive for me. I'll let you know how nice it is. ;) What could be better than the rare, red Sahara Sport model.
p.s. If it's been listed more than 1 day, something's wrong with it.
I don’t think it’s been listed yet. The contact is through a mutual friend. I’m on a work trip so Ive only been able to ask for photos. Next week when I get back I can look at it more and check the frame like what was recommended.
