Does Savvy make aluminum blanks so you can drill your own holes?

I couldn’t find any of this info online, so it probably isn't offered. Im sure most/some of y'all will just say to drill the new holes for the savvy rocker guards since I'm allready running the generic fishbone ones. Its not the end of the world if i have to, but i’m just trying to leave the tub with as less holes as possible. Im just asking if savvy could offer a blank so you can drill your own holes. Kind of like how the nemesis aluminum corner guards are. Thanks😀

That would be a very large NO. Way too many things to go wrong doing that.

You'd think that a company that makes its own parts and not in huge quantities would charge you less for easily speeding up the production of what you want.

This explains why that doesn't and really shouldn't happen.

and something about lawyers. Can't leave them out.

That would not speed up production by one second and in fact would actually slow it down. Oh, you want a custom order, here, get in that long line over there that hasn't moved in 3 years and see how that works out.

If it isn't an option that you can easily do a full run of, it is custom and that requires a conversation with the CAD guy, wait while he makes the changes to the cut file, he sends them over for approval, you peruse said drawings, sign off if good, correct and return if not and repeat that until it looks like what you are after. That gets sent to the laser and you hope and pray that it doesn't become the version they use on the next order of normal parts and the nightmare that causes that no one wants to correct and now you have a batch of shit parts you have to pay for that no one else will ever buy.

Lawyers have nothing to do with this. There are two rows of hole in the slider and backer that have to line up. The ones in the slider are in a very narrow flange that will look like dog dookey if the average person tries to drill them. I would struggle to get them as nicely centered and spaced as they should be and I'm good at that sort of thing.

Lest we forget, that set of holes is spaced according to the length of the rail, how does one plan to make that look as good by not using that hole spacing?

Like I said, way too many things to go wrong to ever make that a good idea. That and when the shit hole spacing is done and it looks like crap, the owner sure as hell ain't going to tell all his buddies HE is the one that screwed up his Savvy product.

Yea i was thinking the same thing that it just wouldn’t look right with the spacing of the bolts from my sliders. It would also proboably affect the integrity/strength of the sliders as well. Wish i would have heard of savvy before purchasing these sliders, heard lots of good things about them.

My new savvy sliders came in today. I don't like the thought of drilling more holes in my tub to replace my old sliders. The fact that these are proven to be strong with a much better mounting system is worth it to me. Also I think savvy sliders would cover just about any hole from any other slider.

What's another dozen or so holes when there's already a dozen or so there? 😀
Haha true, it wouldn’t affect anything tub wise? Just a thought

WOW! @mrblaine has given out considerably more knowledge than I had even thought about and that is NOT uncommon.

I won't be letting lawyers off the hook though. Some are always looking for some way to blame someone (Savvy) and take their money while some are looking to get paid to defend them. Not too many do much else.

Be hard to blame Savvy if you ordered and received what you ordered.

When did you order them??

A few weeks ago they had 4 lj sliders in stock. I think they all were purchased by people on this forum 😂

@Frank M
@Irun
@NOTNSUV
And I bought the last one. I was trying to remove the temptation by mentioning they were in stock here. That last set was still there at the end of the day and I ordered it.

Dang. Well good to know they're still churning them out, I am on the waiting list for the Tj ones. Not sure if I should be checking for in-stock too

As one of the fortunate ones who timed it right with @Longwhitejeep announcement that they were in stock - I was on the LJ waiting list and got no notification from Savvy.

I kept checking as I was on the wait list but didn't receive an email notification. I keep checking on their belly skid daily as well lol.

Same here. Although I've been on numerous Savvy waiting lists, including this one, I've received zero notifications. Makes me wonder why I bother! :(
