Have you looked at the windows? The NOS ones I picked up for my LJ have these weird spots all over them. They don't wash off or polish off the 'glass'.
Mine looks like this, it's not terrible, just annoying.

I read somewhere that you can get new 'glass' glued/welded into the canvas. I might do that at some point.
