Well I found a chrome tube bumper and bought a curt front receiver hitch and installed them both. I have a hf 9000 lb winch mounted on a receiver hitch mount so I slipped it in and wired it up also made some jumper cables that connect to the quick disconnect I put in. Only thing I need is another 30' of welding cable so I can make a jumper cable so I can move the winch to the rear hitch and just extend the cables by plugging into the quick disconnect

Nothing to laugh AT. It looks like something I would do if I had a winch.
As an added bonus, wire all your vehicles with the quick disconnect and make the cables that way, with the clamps as an add on. If you need to jump your other vehicles, you won't need to pop the hood, and the clamps will let you jump other vehicles.

30' is a lot of copper, it will be pricey though. This is the brand I used when I relocated my winch sol. but I believe due to the lenght you will need a bigger gauge.

FYI, a winch can pull 400+ amps, and at roughly 15+ feet 4/0 cable will be required, and that sh!ts expensive at about $10 a foot.

Consider a battery box in the back with an auxiliary battery and run cables from there, more efficient and safer too.

the welding cable I used was a 1/0 welding cable and about $3.50 per ft,only down side was all black no red. NAPA had the red and black but it was almost $8 per ft. Maybe it's just time to buy a 25' roll thanks for the link. I had the winch laying on my workbench as I use it to pull non running vehicles up my driveway and into the garage

can't say for sure but there are very thin strands twisted into bundles which then are twisted to make the cable ,hundreds of hair-thin strands

Just slip some red heat shrink tubing over the cable intended for the positive connections.

Why the jumper cables? Why don't you just hard wire a quick disconnect to your front and rear hard to the battery? That way no need to lift the hood or worry about wires getting caught in the fan during use? Also no need to winch with the hood up? Just curious if you have a reason for that? If you hard wire front and rear you can use exact size wire of which you could probably use a slightly smaller gauge, and the piece of mind that the wire is not getting compromised.

My local Jeep club will only winch members out if both hoods are up. If you don’t want to open your hood up, you don’t get winched out.

Nearly certain warn using 2 gauge wire for all their vehicle winches/power kits.m
