WTF, I ordered 0-2 inch JKS quicker disconnects and a 2inch OME lift from Northridge4x4. I used a gift card and they promptly send me my disco's right away, but no information on the lift at all. I just sent them and email to check on it, and they replied and said it was on back order and the soonest they would ship it out was 1-30-18 and they don't think it will even be that soon.

I spent a gift card on it too.

This is the second website I have purchased something where it was on backorder and there was no info indicating that. NOT COOL (Not even shipping info like "Back ordered!!"

I guess I could hit the phone and see if I can find a place that actually has one, and just cancel my order. Might work if they aren't all on National Backorder which I am assuming because quadratrek is nice enough to actually state backorder on their website. That is a nice at least.

There were two lifts I was contemplating the OME 2 or the Currie 4. I have built my Jeep around the 2inch lift. Now I am kind of in a pickle.

Do I wait it out or tell them to shove it, and by the Currie from somewhere else after checking inventory first?
Or do I wait it out?

Really all I need is the OME lift, and I will be mostly done
less expensive (less extra mods necessary.)

Cons
can't really wheel too much till I get the lift (my front fender is less than 2 inches above the tire now.)

Need to buy bigger tires of which I just bought new tires two months ago

need sye kit (was planning this either way so not really a con)
Don't really need 4 inch lift, am not crazy enough off-road anymore (age setting in)

There's a feeding frenzy going on out there right now. There is ton's of stuff on back order everywhere. Not just TJ parts. I believe that being patient is the way to go, though. Don't let circumstances dictate your build plans. My two cents worth.

I guess it all comes down to "How are you going to use your Jeep?" and "What do you really want?" Bigger can be super cooler, as you said, but also super expensiver! And you don't really want to do serious off-road stuff. But if you have the patience and money to do it, and that's what you really want, go for it.

You built your Jeep for a 2" lift though, so there could be options here. Cancel your order from Northridge and order the OME from elsewhere. Or piece it together, leaving out things you probably don't need, like the OME steering stabilizer, and go with cheaper but good shocks, like the Rancho 5000X. Heck, maybe Northridge has most of the OME kit parts individually, as well as the Rancho shocks. You could check on that.

My guess is you can find the springs in the $355 range, the Rancho shocks for $200, rear relocation bracket for $20, 10mm spacers for $30 or so. What else??? That looks like a good setup for about $600.

Edit: Oh yes, and bump stops. You could use hockey pucks and be all in for another $10-15

I can tell you this much @ac_ , The Rancho RS5000X shocks are very close in performance/ride than the OME Nitros were. Really, all you need is the springs and rear TB relocation bracket, and of course, shocks. If you need get vibes and need to lower the TC, just use washers. You can use hockey pucks for the bumpstop extensions. I have my old TB relocation bracket you can have.

Haha, order it from Amazon next time. I'm not saying that just because it benefits this forum. I'm saying that because Amazon actually has stellar customer service, and they won't sell you something that is on back order without letting you know upfront.

Not to mention I've never actually found a company who will return your money even before they receive the returned item.

The reason why I ordered it from them was because I had a gift card from them. I do try and help the forum when I can for sure.
I don't expect them to return my money before the actual return it is just kind of complicated because they sent the extra parts first and I used a gift card on the whole order. I would expect if I sent it back they would send me a label, but I may do what was suggested earlier and see if I can piece this together. Really because I don't even need the steering stabilizer and a few other parts and may hit up bobthetj for his bracket. Just stupid work getting in the way right now.

I was just saying that because I can't stand when you order something from a website that has the product listed for sale, but doesn't have a real time tracker for whether or not they have it in stock or not.

I've been in your situation before, and it irritates me when someone is willing to take my money, but not notify me beforehand that the item isn't in stock.

Now if they called me right after I placed my order and said, "Hey, that item is on backorder, do you still want to order it?", then I would understand that. But otherwise it's just annoying, because you never know how long you'll be waiting for it.

Amazon has spoiled us all to a degree. I'm used to ordering something, getting it in 2-3 days at most, and then if I want to return it, I go to my Amazon dashboard, print the return label, and as soon as UPS picks it up, Amazon credits my account back. You don't even have to call someone, get a return authorization, etc. It's all automated, and it's almost effortless.

I guess because of that, when I shop at other places (which happens from time-to-time), I pay a lot of attention to how quickly they ship something (i.e., some place will take 3-4 days just to print a shipping label) as well as how quick they are to respond to emails or answer the phone. In this day and age, the cold hard truth is that businesses should be selling customer service, especially when you can buy the same product from an infinite number of places (in most cases).

Chances are you'll have to buy a kit to get the spacers. They are 10mm spacers which gives you the advertised 2.5" of lift. Doing a quick search QTech has them. Amazon might have them too.

This is not like Northridge 4x4. Get your money back and order it from Morris 4x4 or from DPG Offoad.


Orrrrrrrrrrr do Currie 3" coils & fox shocks like me (Rancho would work as well). Pricing was nearly the exact same.
