Color thoughts on Electric Lime Green?

Hi Guys,

Currently have a 2004 TJ in Silver in great shape, been looking for a Rubicon for over a year. Just found a 2004 with 80k miles for $14.5k in Electric Lime Green. Been in Texas its whole life and frame looks good. Clean title (not salvage).

Personally, not a huge fan of the Electric Lime Green color, but wanted to here y'alls thoughts? Thinking I could do a vinyl wrap if it really bothers me. Do you think Electric Lime Green hurts resale?

I'm of the opinion that when you're jeep shopping you find one that is solid, works well, has the features you want, and is priced for your budget. And you accept whatever color it is. However, if I were going to line up a bunch of otherwise identical TJ's, that green would be near the front of the line. Is that on FB marketplace? I think I saw that one when I was scrolling earlier today.

It's a toy. Toys can be "fun" colors. Or that's how I look at it anyway. Trail rigs, hot rods, low riders, motorcycles, etc...

Plus, that's a good deal if it checks out. I think the resale is fine no matter what stock color it is. When you get a non-stock color that can change.

It's ugly and overpriced. Buy it, drive it to Va and I'll give you $14,600 for your troubles. It can be buddies with my red Texas Jeep.

Wraps cost $3,000+ where I live. Buy it and sell it to me if it really bothers you. I could drive to TX I guess. I haven't had a vacation since OJ Simpson killed his wife and Ron Goldman. I went to the FL Keys and thought that was a bad omen.

Same here.. in the opposite order.

Yellow first then green.

Candidly, when I went searching for the TJ, color was pretty far down on my list of requirements. Mine is black. Never would have chosen another black Jeep.

Buy it. Be happy. Wrap it if you hate it.

Color was last on my list of requirements. If it checks all the other boxes and is priced right, I'd jump on it.

Tell you what...I have a Black 04 rubicon. Its on 35's and built mostly "right." Buy the Lime green one and we'll trade. I'd probably even give you some money to cover the milage difference, LOL

I sold my clean 2005 ELG Rubicon 18 months ago with about the same miles and some quality mods for $17.5k to the first guy that called. I could have gotten more. Market seems to be cooling off a little. Wish I would have kept it for a driver Jeep. The LJ is much more trail oriented. I don't have room to park two of them right now.

I like the color, its rare and stands out. Too many red Jeeps. I have a red LJ now and there are always like 6 red jeeps in our trail runs. Never an ELG.

I would go look at it, before it sells.

Who cares what anybody else thinks? If you like it - or can live with it - buy it. My Jeep is red - NOT my first choice (not my last either) - it was what was available at the time. My old MBZ is blue. Blue is almost the very LAST color I'd want a car to be - but it was what was available at the time. MBZ had a very nice teal in the same years that I'd love it to be, but if wishes were fishes...

As for that color, I'd take it over red. All Jeeps should be green, preferably ODG but if not that, at least green. I'll make an exception for "Aztec Gold".

Totally agree, but what you like. I have a tendency to buy white and green vehicles. I have had a lot of vehicles over the years (40-50). Most have been white, several green, only two red. When I bought my latest truck my wife talked me into medium gray instead of white. She's never coming with me to the lot again. I've threatened to trade it in because its not what I wanted.
