Does a hood mounted light bar block the windshield washers from spraying?

I don't have a hood mounted version but I have driven several that do, at night, when it can be tested well. The glare thing is way overblown and the light actually does work very well to get the trail lit up. I've also heard the same thing about hood glare from windshield mounted light bars and the same non issue applies there as well.

Maybe we have run into different mounting methods and locations for the hood versions but so far I haven't run into one that has an actual problem. A simple shade run off of the bottom of the lightbar forward about 1/2" would block any light down onto the hood if needed.

From the OP’s post asking about windshield washer interference, I was picturing a wide light bar mounted on the cowl, low. I don’t think any amount of shade run under the light bar in that circumstance would help block the reflection off the hood. I think the same would be true about lights mounted on the windshield hinge, I‘ve not ridden in a rig so equipped.

But point taken, it is certainly going to throw some light down range which would help - but I think there are much more effective locations for mounting off road lights.

I know it is very often given as the reason not to do it but I've been in quite a few rigs at night with pretty big light bars right in front of the cowl and it just isn't a problem. I have also expected the hinge mounted lights to suck for the same reasons and they really don't.

I've got 4 inch spotlights on the windshield and I don't think glare is a problem either.
