Ok THANKS. I have a 195* thermostat but it runs just under 210 on the gauge so I was looking to see what I might do to bring it down some

That's EXACTLY the correct temperature it was designed to run at. Adding hood louvers will not cause it to run any cooler.Ok THANKS. I have a 195* thermostat but it runs just under 210 on the gauge so I was looking to see what I might do to bring it down some
But it might LOOK cooler.Adding hood louvers will not cause it to run any cooler.
and before your start thinking I'll tell you don't even consider putting a 185deg thermostat in it ! yes it will bring your temp down but your fuel mileage will go to shit and your engine will run like shit too !

It might bring down the temp on the gauge, just not the engine.
A 180 or 165 degree thermostat won't help it run cooler in warm or hot conditions. If it could we wouldn't need the big radiators we do.I think that's what it had in it before and that's why when it got up to 210 it didn't look right to me THANKS
"Running a lower temperature thermostat will not bring down engine temperatures, it only controls OPENING TEMPERATURES. The only "benefit" is that you have now increased the amount of time it will take for your vehicle to reach operating temperature."
