We had a '64 convertible when I was a kid. Handled like crap. They were known for suddenly turning off the headlites without notice - something about an overheating relay. It happened to my dad and I once. Huge engine, would go like stink in a straight line. The leather seats were completely miserable in the heat if the top was down.

I had a 61 and would disagree. Mine handled fine for being the big boat that it was. And I never had any of the headlight issues. Mine was a hardtop so I didn't have the heat issues. It was a great drive-in going rig.

I drove the wheels off it up until I joined the Army.

Its cool, I like it. It would look better if it weren't so low, but at least it isn't slammed.

Not sure how it would look BETTER if it was raised. But we know what they say about Opinions...... Everyone has one, just like assholes and MOST of them stink.

I was obviously too young to drive it myself, I just remember my parents complaining about it being easy to fishtail, and not taking corners well. Agree about opinions! Lowered cars just don't do it for me, they never have. No accounting for taste, yours OR mine!

Well I was too young to drive mine when it was NEW but I did drive it as a 16 year old car. And yes it needed frontend work but I never had issues with the rear trying to pass the front. And I drove it like a stupid teenager does. And I was driving it in PNW weather.

While I'd agree to a POINT we (me) all know your opinion is in doubt in the first place.

I don't mind a nicely done lowered rig. They have their place just like short bed trucks.
