I had separate foot locker for mine....

I did a 3 year assignment where I was in the field 2 months then back in garrison for 1 month then back in the field for 2 months. It was a long 3 years.

Things have changed between Vietnam and Iraq for sure.

We did a 3 month rotation to NTC with a "No Pogie Bait" rule. It was a Article 15 if you were caught with any. We were testing out the then new MRE's. This was 1984. I lost 15 pounds in those 3 months.

It was MRE's twice a day and one hot meal which was mostly breakfast. Back then the MRE's weren't fit for a dog to eat. They had dehydrated beef patty as one meal. Jelly doughnut is pogie bait.. So NO....

While attending an NCO course at Ft. Devens I was honored by having the lesson plan I wrote for an assignment be placed into the School files for posterity.

I spent the time given for the assignment gathering resources, editing the lesson plan, producing lesson handouts, practicing in front of a mirror with a stop watch, and manufacturing the materials necessary for student use and an enlarged(X5) version for demonstration purposes.

Everything came together when I gave my class on "The proper field use of the combat rations toilet paper"
