What kind of brake pads do you suggest?

Ya'll really need to quit using powder coated calipers. They can't coat around where the dust boot seats so they start rusting in that groove, the rust pushes the dust boot into the piston and causes it to stick. Always just get plated stuff, not powder coated.

Gonna so some actual performance tests and document variations. Starting with their daily driver pads and working my way up.

I went with the Power Stop Z23 pads, Centric rotors, Ultra Power calipers

I may buy those new calipers also, thanks
Mine look a bit weathered, so I cleaned em up and painted em.

Some of the fluid I sucked out of my master was so black and nasty, I wanna flush it all and start from ground zero with 100% new so I can get a good baseline.

Coated is not the same as plated. Need a way to find out what they are doing. I got some in that were supposedly Geomet. My test is to squirt them with brake cleaner since we all do that anyway. 3.8 seconds later, I'm looking at raw casting where the silver paint went bye bye.

My issue has been the Jeep sits a lot. We try to ride somewhere once a week, but with an ongoing home remodel we have been a little slack this year. But normally November-February it doesn’t move much. I bought it from a man that didn’t drive it much at all. I had an F350 that I only used to play and pull a boat. Damn calipers were s easing up every year.

Worst possible thing you can do to your brakes is not use them. Iron absorbs ambient moisture. Then it rusts, the rust absorbs more moisture, then it rusts more. Before long, flaky rust ruins all of it. Driving and the heat it generates dries them out better.

Well at least he didn't change the pads and get 40 mpg...
