Im considering getting the barnes 4wd 2" drop skid for my 2002 jeep tj with the 4.0. Ive been watching some videos and looking at reviews and on a video it said you had to cut the center exhaust hanger down shorter so it doesn't hit the tub but on some reviews people have said they didn't have to. I have a 1.25" body lift so I don't believe I would have to worry about doing this but just wanted some input if anybody had any.

I’ve got a 2” drop skid and only a 1/2” body lift. I had to do the mod not because of body contact but because the exhaust hit the control arm mount.

I have a 1-1/4” body lift, 1 inch motor mount lift and the UCF extra clearance skid. I had to cut my exhaust hanger down to get things to clear. It wasn’t very hard to do. I did pick up an extra mount off eBay so I could keep my original intact.
You might get by without shortening your exhaust hanger, but your cat will be really close to the tub, giving your passenger hot feet (even with insulation).

Why do you believe you need 2" rather than a 1" drop skid? A 2" transfer case drop is just not a good idea unless you have such a tall suspension lift that 1" has already been proven insufficient. How tall is your suspension lift?
Consider a 1" motor mount lift from Mountain Offroad Enterprises too. It can be used in place of a tcase drop for smaller lifts or 1" less tcase drop for taller suspension lifts.
I think he's referring to the Barnes skid that is only 2" deep, not a spacer drop. At least that was my understanding?

I forgot to mention that I’m using the LOPRO trans mount with my UCF extra clearance skid. Also have a 1” MML.
Yep the skid, and I do have the brown dog offroad 1" mml.
Do you know if these two transmission bracket part numbers are interchangeable?

I have no idea, but I do know that the manual tranny and auto tranny use different mounts. Compare the pictures of mine to the pictures of MountaineerTom.

I didn’t have a part number when I got mine. I just went with the description of for an auto and based on the pictures.
I will say eBay seller deadjeepparts sent me a manual mount when the listing was for an auto. They refunded my money because they didn’t actually have one for an auto so I got one from another seller.
