JK led 3rd Brake Light Swap

Just completed my 3rd brake light swap from a 2015 JK Rubicon onto my 2001 Sport. Very happy with the result. Im a collision tech at a local Jeep dealer and the other day I changed out a broken spare tire bracket with the light built into it with a new one. Since it is an all in one design I took off the excess with an angle grinder and ground down till it was just the light on a plate. Drilled and screwed it onto my existing bracket and spliced the wires. Took a good 2 1/2-3 hours from start to finish but was totally worth it.

Not a bad idea, I like it!

I actually removed mine completely, but that was only because I had to make room for a full size spare, so there was no way it was going to work.

Had the same problem. Made spacers using thick wall conduit and longer bolts.

I raised mine a couple of inches in order to fit my 33" spare.
