This guy says car hauler but why it looks like the utility trailers from zztrailer

Looks nice
I could always go redneck toy hauler route
Nothin wrong with that.
Set it up so it straps down like on a truck. Remove it when necessary
I put a shell on the back of my 2500hd. A queen air mattress fits back there and keeps the rain and critters out. A few tubs and coolers with camp gear and I'm set.
Maybe leave the camper at home when towing the jeep?
Cheapest option - check brake laws you may need a brake system to be legal
Legal or not I don't relish the idea of going down 70 with no brakes on whatever I'm pulling.
Keep an eye out for a brake buddy or similar system. I picked mine up for $250 in full working condition.
Not hard to find a setup for it. Yay Colorado

I don't know what it takes to adapt to your TJ so can't help with that. My Metalcloak front bumper was setup for flat tow so I didn't need anything other than a cheap tow bar.
Thanks to the world's best Jeep forum, it looks like someone has used this bar on their TJ already

There you go, now add a hitch extender and you'll be dragging your Jeep everywhere.
I guess I could do that. Idk why I thought they were permanently affixed.
I also am nervous about pulling a trailer that long. I just don't have the experience to know what it'd be like.
I probably couldn't afford a 5th wheel trailer and 5th wheel setup by June anyways in all honesty haha

It is an option forsure. I'm just kinda excited about the idea of finally having a nice cozy setup for once. I normally camp out of the Jeep which is barely better than backpacking and I'm sick to death of it.
Funny enough I was considering buying those lights for the camper when the lights stopped working
Legal or not I don't relish the idea of going down 70 with no brakes on whatever I'm pulling.
Maybe I'll see what I can find on FBM for this setup. A trailer would be more useful but if I get a good deal on the flat tow I can give it more thought and time on what I really think I need/want.
What's the difference?First off it's not a 5th wheel it's a gooseneck trailer.
You have to have a gooseneck hitch installed in your truck but it's actually easy to do. I've done 3 of them myself if you were to go that route. My setup was 27' long so I had 17' of open deck once I removed the Jeep from the trailer which was really nice when it was raining or dusty out to not be in the dirt.
As if I ever want to work on this camper again lolThe camper is held down with the same tiedowns you use to hold the camper onto your truck bed. The hardest part is getting brackets that are wide enough to go past the fenders on the trailer. Some campers come with dually swingout brackets on the front but they are just about 1" too narrow. So most people make their own brackets to make the jacks wide enough to fit past the fenders.
Actually a gooseneck trailer isn't much more expensive than a flatbed trailer.
IMO it's too narrow.
I used to tow my CJ5 behind my Waggoner with no brakes on the Jeep and it would push the rear of the Waggy around sometimes so YES I 100% agree if you're going to flat tow you want some type of braking system for your Jeep.
IMO with the camper you have I think flat towing it is your better option right now.
Wish you were closer too since I have a bunch of the equipment for flat towing. I used to tow my ex's JK behind our motorhome. So I still have a bunch of stuff. I don't think I still have the towbar but will have to look.
I'll bring all my junk to Moab with me and you can have anything you want/need as spares. It's just taking up space in my garage.
What's the difference?
Yeah that sounds kinda cool having the mobile deck being part of it lol. That is a lot of trailer though!
As if I ever want to work on this camper again lol
Yeah, there is a lot of supporting stuff for the trailer youd need with my setup that I really didn't expect. Making it a bigger pain and more expensive than I really was looking for.
My friend says he's done a lot of flat towing without brakes too. Seems like the truck would probably be OK with a 3000lb vehicle behind it but since there are so many used controllers I might as well get one.
Thanks man I appreciate it. I don't actually know what all the parts are so we'll see what you have and what I end up with lol. And if anyone else needs anything I guess
