My 9th grade daughter came home the other day and informed me that she "learned in health class today that milk is very bad for you". She said it with a gleam in her eye because a short while ago I was telling her she should drink milk more often.

So I checked:

Sure enough, the "experts" have decided that although humans have been drinking milk for eons (cow, goat, horse etc) that it leads to a host of horrid diseases including numerous cancers, diabetes and colic. It will also stop your heart and destroy your liver.
This guy recommends alternatives like almond, oat and YES, HEMP milk.

Oh, and ALL of you are lactose intolerant to some degree, you just don't know it.

My grand dad guzzled that stuff all day long. Must be what killed him at 94.

Geez.

Way more pros then cons when it comes to good old fashioned liquid vitamin D. Our medical director Dr. Campbell starts every morning with a tall glass of milk and 1 banana. Wakes up at 0400 and has that as a pre workout snack. I opt for the tall glass of milk, and a concoction of a half cup of cottage cheese and a half cup of vanilla Greek yogurt topped with granola; if you want a healthy great tasting quick breakfast you can thank me later lol. I love dairy hahaha.

I bet you drank milk the first couple of years of your life, like the rest of us. There is nothing more natural for mammals to drink than milk.

I sure did, breast milk!

My guess would be that the folks telling us that milk is bad are the same ones eating carrots in public while running into the closet to jam a family size bag of Doritos down their gullet.

I did try to explain to my daughter that "healthy" often really means "fashionable" or "trendy"
My boss wasn't lactose intolerant until she read an article in Redbook about it.
Folks still argue whether high cholesterol has ever been truly linked to heart disease.
My co-worker never had fibromyalgia until she saw the commercials for the medicine.

Like than man said, if you repeat it over and over enough, it becomes the truth.

I'm paranoid, so I wonder if the pharma folks make meds for illnesses that don't exist until the meds are available. :)

(This is all tongue in cheek, so don't freak)

I will eat the shit out of egg and cheese sandwhiches made on white bread. We gotta go out somehow right?? Hahaha

Dude? Eggs, cheese AND bread?
I'm calling the CDC.
If you just bumped into a person who is lactose intolerant, gluten allergic with high cholesterol they would explode. :)
