Looking for suggestions on aftermarket fog lights…that don’t cost a arm and a leg. To be clear I am not looking for a flood or a spot beam but a clean looking fog lamp. Somewhere in the 4” diameter range, I am running out of packaging space with existing lights and the winch… picture of what I am basically looking for but just not seeing anything under $300 🫣. that's not a flood light, which seems weird or my google skills have deteriorated… either amber or white if you got a recommendation.

Baja Designs is the only one I would ever recommend. To be fair I dont have much experience with others but I have never been let down by their light. They have a SAE DOT certified fog light out now, it's pretty nice. I believe it's just barely over your $300 budget though.

LoL- $300 is not my budget…yet. 🤔 I just have champagne taste on a beer budget… trying to find that elusive deal that lives under $300. See the example below- decent light kit for $90 but find this with proper optical for fog is looking like $200 adder? At least so far. ThatDiode Dynamics is one that I had not heard of. Ut looks like they got some good reviews.

I never use fog lights because there has never been fog in the entire 25 years I've lived here. That being said I use Hella superbright H3 bulbs for additional light. If you want amber fog lights and want the non-LED stock look, I would use stock lamps with yellow film or translucent yellow spray coating.

We do have fog here, it can get impressive and linger around for a week or two at a time… here is the thing I have the factory lamps /yellow hella H3 bulbs.. but the ARB bumper installed mounts higher and putting these on would block the headlight enough to both look odd and render the headlight marginal… so replacement has got to be a small package light. Just didn’t expect my killer FB deal would cost me so much in lighting…🤣

Look for oem fog lights on eBay. That's where I found mine. That is if it works with your setup.

Factory Hellas are nice, I do have the OEM set - add the 100watt hella H3 bulb for a little extra kit. But won’t fit with a my new bumper arrangement.

Diod Dynamics is pretty impressive as well and they're cheaper than the BD's for sure. Go check out the jeepglagiatorforum.com. I dont know about recently but at least last couple years there was a lot of talk about them and a ton of really good reviews. They are worth seriously considering. Still might be over your budget though. https://www.diodedynamics.com/products/lighting/fog-lamps.html

Legit I was looking at these little dudes…

Just make sure your getting ones that are SAE rated or DOT approved. Lots of folks in my area not doing that. Nobody used to care. In fact it's legal to hard wire off road lights into your brights for activation here. But since more and more are being inconsiderate that law might change.

I have the 6" Quadratec LED fog lights on the bumper with the amber lens covers, they put out a ton of light, I picked up a set of their 4" lights for the A-pillars, just need to get around to installing them

I have those too. The 4 inch floods on my bumper. I tried yellow Laminx but the output didn’t look quite right to me. Went with amber Laminx and I’m happy with it. No sharp cut off in these like true fogs though. Plenty bright enough for me though. I also have their 4 inch spots on the A-pillars.

Those look good..Nice that they are plug and play with the wire harness but not a fog light pattern to be had….
  • Beam Pattern - Choice of 10° Spot or 30° Flood pattern

if you're not married to the strict 4" size or LED, I like my KC's and they're easier on the budget (though not as easy as they were when I bought them...pretty sure I paid closer to $150 for the pair.

They're still only 55W and they come with a connector that plugs into the stock harness, so there's no wiring work. Don't expect flood or spot performance, fogs aren't supposed to be that bright.

I liked the yellow/amber but they don't come that way so I put a laminx film on them.

My biggest gripe is that when I'm working on the Jeep and bump against them, it's really easy to move out of alignment. I've been thinking about taking it off the bracket and creating some space for a star washer that will bite into both sides and keep that from happening.

Just throwing this out there since "budget friendly" is a top priority, what about Harbor Freight lights? I've never had any, but I’ve been thinking about picking up some HF flood style lights to run on my tractor. Otherwise, I gravitate toward KC.

This image might help next to yours, The framing square is about dead on the height of my factory Hellas. I am going to be blocking the turn signal or the headlight in some form or fashion. But you can see where a smaller 4” could land out of the way.

I see - yes that would be a good reason to stay with a smaller diameter.

How about a set of Hella 450s? They're just under 4" high and have a good pattern. This kit has everything you need, but seems to only be available in clear. You can get the individual lights with an amber lense if you have everything else you need, or you could get yellow bulbs for them.

Those are a blast from the past! Thanks for the link. Checks price point and a true fog lamp! Mentally I was looking round but I will make a mock-up and see how it flows with the every… could be a contender! Bonus part with the 100w bulb it will keep the snow/ice cleared off.
