Is there anyone out there making aftermarket interior door panels? It seems like there would be a huge market for it, but I have scoured the internet and cant find anything. OEM door panels go for over $300 witch is just crazy! I don't have the ability to do it, but seems like it would be easy enough to make some custom interior door panels and sell them.

Anyway the point is that my drivers side door panel is badly damaged, likely not repairable. Don't want to drop $300 for super plain OEM panels. Are there any other options out there? Thanks guys!

If you have half doors it doesn't look like it would take much to make a panel out of a sheet of UHMW or 0.032" aluminum. Full doors not so easily.

I've tried google image searching for custom made door panels, or DIY door panels. Expected to see pictures of home made door panels from aluminum or diamond plate steel. That would look pretty cool. Couldn't find anything though.

I know it is insane considering all of the other crap you can buy for a Jeep. Maybe I should make a business out of this niche. Why are there no after market door panels!??

That is a VERY good question.

The TJ door panels were unchanged from 1997 - 2006, so I have no idea why the aftermarket doesn't offer any replacements.

Plastic is repairable.

I saw a door panel that a dog sat there and scratched at it for so long it looked like it went through a wood chipper. The guy took it to a body shop and they repaired it the same way they would repair a plastic bumper. They even put a texture on it and you would never know it was repaired. The only possible way to tell was the texture was slightly different than the other side, but ever so slightly.
