Loud squeal

I have a 2003 jeep wrangler 6 cylinder 4.0 automatic. I’ve been having an issue for about 3 years now. And I have yet to fix it. When my jeep gets up to running temp, a loud squeal will come on, will stay on for a while and sometimes turn off or stay squealing. It will stops when i accelerate but as soon as i stop accelerating it turns back on. Ive changed the serpentine belt, timing belt and ive changed one of the valve/bolts on the manifold. Still yet to find it. My guess is, its a bolt fallen off from the exhaust somewhere but still no luck in locating. Any one heard of this happening or have any ideas. Its been 3 years too long. Thank you.

I do not think so, since it happens when idle/coasting. Not when accelerating.

Can you pinpoint a few suspect areas while looking under the hood as it’s making the noise? I think you can safely squirt / spray some water on parts making noise to see if they stop squealing; just to positively identify the culprit. It could be an old wheel or bearing that just happens to scream at a certain temperature and RPM, and some water might temporarily lubricate it enough to confirm it as the source.

thats a good idea, going to take a look at it today and see if this works

Take the above advice and check belt your idler and tensioner.

You can even run it beltless a little bit to see.

The “L” fittings on the intake manifold are typically cooked.

I have a throttle body whistle from the shaft being worn. I tried to find a new OEM one but they are coming up as “out of stock or discontinued”. I found a used one that looked pretty good on eBay and swapped it out but now it is whistling but not as bad as the first. I may give an aftermarket one a try if I can determine which one is worth taking a gamble on. Jeep runs fine but annoying if I don’t have the radio cranked. I tell people it’s my turbo winding up.

I did a boost leak test using soapy water and found both ends of the TB shaft leaking. No other leaks at the TB.

Is there a seal and/or bearing for each end of the shaft that I can order? Or is there a TB rebuilder that anyone would recommend I contact?

I appreciate the help on this.
