I have a 1999 Jeep Wrangler SE 2.5L 4 cylinder has original Jeep hardtop with sunroof, original Jeep mirrors, original Jeep rear bumper, 15 in Mickey Thompson Baja wheels, tires are crap. It has 96K original miles paint is rough, needs electrical work such as turn signals taillights but that's about it. The hood and fenders are from another Jeep due to a tree falling on the front end but that's it. You guys opinion is very appreciated. It's my very first one and it runs great pull great and is loads of fun.

The rust i can see, and probably alot that can't be seen, the 2.5 4 cylinder makes me honestly think $2500.00 max.

Wow so then most likely I could sale the hardtop by itself and get a possible 2 grand out of it then your telling me the rest of the Jeep would only be valued at 500. You must be smoking Crack or maybe you think of Appalachian American or aka the Hillbillies as uneducated and dumb.

Look at where he's from... he speaks from experience. He knows what we are 🍻.

But as a complete sale he's not far off. Parting it out would get you more money. If someone buys it for the top they will more than likely sell, scrap or part it out.

Hardtop is worth maybe $800-$1200 give or take, depending on area.

Those hard upper doors are worth maybe $400-$600 I'd think.

The Jeep isn't worth much itself but if you were to part it out you'd probably see $2500 to $3000 depending on condition. The problem with that is you'll be parting it out for a year or so before you see all of that money.

It's unfortunate but what you're dealing with there is a very poor example of a TJ. Given the rust, the 4-cylinder (not very desirable compared to the 4.0), and the current market, you're simply not going to get much for what you've for there. Remember, you asked for opinions. You got the truth and you rejected it because the the truth wasn't what you wanted to hear. It doesn't change the fact that it is indeed the truth.

Finally, I'm not sure where you got the idea that anyone thinks "Appalachian Americans" or "hillbillies" are uneducated or dumb. That sounds like projection to me.

On the other hand, if you feel that's you, this is 2024 and it is a brave new world! Claim your victim card and run with it. Maybe you can get in on some of Communist Kamala and Tampon Tim's reparations. There's a lot of social currency in being a victim, isn't there?

Nope not at all, the mountain i live on is part of the Appalachians, i seriously doubt you will get $2000.00 for the hard top, more like $1000.00.

The body is rusted and I bet the frame is too.

$1000.00 hardtop
$500.00 for the axles
$250.00 for the 4 banger

I am just looking at it realistically.

I know marketplace and Craigslist prices are high, but how long do they sit on parts before they sell or mark them down lower.

No way in hell he's getting $2000 for that hardtop. You can get factory hardtops for $800-$1200 all day long in great shape.

I'd say your prices are spot on. But hey, what do we know?

Yep, Sand Mountain and Lookout Mountain are both part of the Appalachians, most folks don't realize the southern tip of the Appalachians ends just south of Birmingham Alabama.

On the other hand I do know exactly where Middlesboro KY is.

just saying.....

Where are the hood latches? Passenger door seal is going to have to be replaced, be realistic if tree fell on it, what can't we see????
