'97-'02 Mirrors vs '03-'06 Mirrors

I would like to get a new set of side view mirrors and was just wondering, is there any differences between the 2 versions that would be beneficial for me to get the 2nd gen ones over the 1st gen ones I currently have? I'm leaning towards the '03-'06 ones right now, they must have changed them for a reason, right?

The later ones appear that they don't have the tilt that the earlier ones have which might be nice update. Has anyone had both and have any preferences or noticed anything better about one than the other?

I put 03-06 mirrors on my 97 doors. Best mod ever

Yes they do.

Same bolt pattern. My half doors came with the earlier style. I did not like them compared to the newer version that came on the Jeeps full doors. So, I bought a matching newer set for them.
The old style will fold back more though. On a half door you can fold them back so far they are inside the Jeep!
