Any 97 thru 02 owners have a Wolfbox G900 Pro with the direct mount?

They are telling me they are not sure if it fits???

It will not fit the OEM windshield bracket and be secure. BUT, you can get the Dorman 76864 button pack and choose which one fits in best on your Wolfbox mirror mount. Then get yourself the Permatex 09102 glue kit and glue the second button onto your OEM button.

This is what I did in my '00 TJ with my Wolfbox G850Pro (uses the same windshield mount as the G900).

I went with the G930 which is only 10" and takes a different mount which, once I finally got it positioned correctly, worked fine and hasn't loosened up or moved. I had a hard time with it at first and thought I was going to have to shim it but after some fiddling I found the spot where it tightens down fine. (FWIW they also told me they weren't sure if it would fit.) Did you already buy the 900? My 10" 930 barely fits between the visors. Curious why you want to go with the 12" wide 900 and how does it fit?

Great minds think alike! That was exactly my plan if I confirmed that the OEM bracket won’t fit. 👍

I was raised in the 70’s where bigger was always better! Lol. Actually a few friends got the G900 pro and they all raved about it.

Fits fine with the visors up. If you need to fold them down you do need to unlatch the visor, bring it forward, tilt it up and then slide it behind the mirror. Super easy once you have done it a few times.

The only thing I dislike about the Wolfbox is the clock is white and pretty hard to see in the daytime. It's my only clock in the TJ since I keep the head unit set to display the artist instead of the time.

How's the night time usability ? Where is the rear camera mounted? Is the same rear camera used for rear view and backup view? How's the usability in inclement weather? Those are some important questions for these systems irrespective of manufacturer.

There were lots of complaints about night time rear view glare on many Wolfbox models and from what I had seen if you complain enough they would send you a different rear camera to try.

If you can put up with that every time you have to put the visors down, more power to you. In other words, bigger isn't always better for everyone.

I have no complaints with the visibility of the G850pro. It's a little dark but that is because where I have the camera mounted. You can see it on the rear cross bar in the center. I chose this location so it wouldn't get destroyed on a trail.

I did try their anti-glare screen cover, but during the day I like to look through the video to use it as an actual mirror.

The clock is great on mine and I too have deleted the clock on my head unit to get more screen real estate. Maybe in the summer when the top comes off I’ll notice but now I can see it clearly.

They do have different cameras if you are mounting it inside. Mine is inside but I used the camera that came with it and no issues. As far as night, I can't say as I don't usually drive the Jeep at night. I also have mine mainly for backing up and I have it set to go dark when not backing up. Backup and front dashcam are my 2 main reasons for having it. The rare times I will drive the TJ at night I can use it dark, it's not the same as the OEM mirror but all I care about is who is behind me and it does fine for that. For that matter I'm so used to driving vehicles with side view mirrors only that I don't have a lot of need for a rear view mirror anyway when I'm not backing up.

It does use the same camera for back up as regular rear view but you can adjust the field of view for either one and it will stay where you put it.

The cameras in these systems work the best when they are mounted high and near the centerline is the vehicle. Do you see anything on the mirror display when a lifted truck is behind you with lights on at night time ?

That location you have is 100% no bueno for me. And that bar would drive me crazy trying to access stuff in the rear which is a different topic.

The G900 has the latest rear camera and it’s has been flawless in my context. I’ve had rain but no snow yet.

Night time is great on the front with the Sony sensor and good in the rear but on par with how the actual mirror would look.

Currently mounted on top of my third brake light.

Waiting to switch wheels but when I do I’ll use the Wolfbox for mirror and a separate camera (that’s connected to stereo) for back up. Currently just using Wolfbox.

Thanks for the honest response. I think you should just test your system's usability at night time just so you know how it is and not surprised if you eventually have to drive your jeep at night. I view stuff like these as important upgrades and if it's an upgrade it has to be better than what was there before, otherwise it's just a jeep project for fun. Nothing wrong with projects, but that's how I see things in general.

I went with a much different OEM style system specifically because I saw the cheaper systems on the market did not adequately answer the questions I asked in this thread earlier.

I did read about your system and it is top notch, including the professional installation. I just didn't feel I needed to go that far, if it were my DD maybe but the Jeep's main job is a toad. The only night time driving it really ever sees it on the beach and like I said I'm not dependent on rear view mirrors anyway. Just out of curiosity though I will have to bring it out at night and report back. Right now I consider it adequate for my needs but in no way a comparison to your first rate setup and I appreciate you taking the time to detail yours in an earlier thread even if I decided to go a different route.

With my headliner and hard top that never comes off I was able to do a fairly neat install as well, the 3 connections on top of the mirror are only visible for a few inches as they come out of the headliner and pass thru that little footman loop and into the mirror. The camera wire is fed thru the grommeted hole for the rear window wiring and the camera is mounted dead center at the very top of the rear window with a bracket that screws onto the plastic divider in the center of the defrost vents. The reverse trigger wire goes thru the defrost vents to the driver's side rear pillar and down thru the grommet to the wheel liner where it ties into the reverse wire.

I'll post a few pics when I can.

My next project will likely be another one for the motorhome so I can watch the Jeep when towing. I can use the head unit but then I lose everything else on the screen.

You have done better than most do for the install. Good job.
