New Jeep owner looking for advice

Hey everyone just found this website hoping i can get some help/advice. Just bought a new TJ 2000 4.0 automatic RHD. She's in mint condition and id really like to keep this as a long term vehicle. Request if there is some good things for me to look out for or what kind of preventative maintenance i should do.

Here is my Jeep, Named her Sierra!

Change all the fluids, check for rust if it's an issue in Guam (humidity, salt water), and don't worry about the head cracking issues that 00-01' Jeeps can have until it actually happens. Some do, some don't. Enjoy it.

CONGRATULATIONS on the purchase....
Guam's is close to the ocean; I would check inside the frame rails and underneath of the body for rust.

I was born on Guam, my farther was in the Navy and stationed there. Frankly I wish I was there instead of New Mexico. TJ frames rust from the inside out. I would check that. Ask on this forum and you will get some good rust prevention ideas. Enjoy your Jeep.

Small world. Thanks for the advice, the outside of the frame is good with minor superficial rust but ive yet to look on the interior. I will take a look thanks for the help!

Welcome. Is that RHD a thing in Guam, or are you on the opposite side than everyone else?

Guam is a territory of the States. RHD is not the norm i got this jeep imported from Fukuouka Japan hence the RHD.

Welcome… good luck.. buy a good radio.. when you hear a noise.. turn it up.. ignore the check engine light.. if it goes out.. there’s a problem…oil pressure gauge should read about 10psi.. your radiator should read 180 or 220… if it’s reads 210… your not doing something right!!!

Welcome to the forum. If you’re in Guam I’m going to take a wild guess and say you’re in the military. I could be wrong though. As a fellow member of the forum that also lives in the middle of the Pacific Ocean (I live in Hawaii, my wife is active duty and we are stationed here)

Rust is a big deal here so check it thoroughly and get after it if you see it. We are heading into the rainy season and when it rains the salt comes up from the ground. Wash that baby a lot and get the under carriage! Mahalo!
