How to fix door bulge?

I replaced the weather strip and now the door won’t shut properly. I had to push the upper part of it in and lower part won’t close all the way. Do the new seals need to compress or something?

I replaced the weatherstrip one of my doors and had to move the latch/closure thing on the tub side towards the inside so that it would cause the door to close tighter.

Yes, I wound up getting a new seal from Amazon. Somewhere else here I saw a recommendation for a knock off seal from Amazon that apparently worked flawlessly. Ordered it, popped it in and it works flawlessly

If the door used to close all the way and you're sure it's just the seal, then force it closed.
The new seal will conform eventually.

The door seal never did conform after like a year of having it on mine, and actually started to crack the hardtop. That’s why i replaced it
