Wildman's TJ is getting a face lift

It's pretty great you have family with equipment and skills to help make this work a bit less painful!

Yes it is... They have helped me out more than once with that little tractor. I return the favors with doing mechanic work for them.

Well DAMN.... I'd developed a small sore on my leg from last Saturday when I was crawling under the house and my liner had gotten soaked and instead of stopping and swapping it out I'd just kept going... I'd gotten fixated on the project and honestly had forgotten that it was wet...

I'd taken two days where I hadn't work my leg much hoping the sore would heal up faster that way... But then Friday when repairing the water line I'd of course worked my leg pretty good. Yesterday I did catchup on things around the house & took a long shower and other stuff but not a lot of stressful things.

Woke up to this... The White spot is the sore from last Saturday when the liner had gotten wet.

When I broke my knee and got tired of crutches I just hopped around on one leg. Could try that

My left knee is in rough enough shape to already... So Nope hopping isn't an option.

Trying to break his neck now?

Yep I don't need to fall and screw something else up....

Going to go into the doctors tomorrow and let them look at it.

Glad you have water back at the homestead!

Awesome that you have family with such experiences to help on such a project to keep costs way down! You were certainly the 'guy in the hole' and good on you climbing around and working it!

Hopefully you can rest a minute and get those sores back under control. I'm way too familiar with too many home projects on the to do list - it'll be there or it'll just show up and yell 'look at me', like your water pipe.....

Last time I had something that looked like my leg right now it was a staph infection so I'm prepared for the doctors to tell me that tomorrow. Not sure what I'll do if that is what it is.

Yes having family that can help out is always nice... I'll admit I was more than ready to pay someone to fix it but also glad to have saved the money too.

Just got back from my doctors appointment & YEP it's a staph infection. Got antibiotics to take for a week to help clear it up. I've got his approval to wear my socket and get things ready for the trip & work on the Jeep...
So I'll get up early (I hope) tomorrow and work on the Jeep. Then when it gets warmer (we've got another heat wave) I'll take the motorhome into town to dump the tanks & refill the propane.

So hopefully we'll have an update on the Jeep tomorrow and then another run up the forest service road to see if the heat shield works.

Heat shield is installed.

It does seem to be helpful since I'd been seeing temps closer to 200⁰ and higher off the down pipe.

And then inside the outer layer of heat wrap on the shifter cable.

I need to put some hose clamps on the outer heat wrap to hold it in place and I'll be done.

So far so good... Shifter cable is still shifting so I MIGHT have this issue licked I HOPE...

Got to get the skid plates back on and then run to the store to get my last minute shopping done... Then come back and load the Jeep and I should be ready to depart tomorrow.

Great news, Richardo…

Thanks Jeff... Skids are mounted and it's ready to load on the trailer. Rained here last night and there is a chance of rain tonight so I'll throw the trail covers on it once it's loaded on the trailer.
There isn't cell service where we're camping at. But as I have signal I'll try to update how the trip is going. Plan is to roll out of here NLT 10AM tomorrow. Going to my cousins house in Old Town, ID tomorrow and then onto Kalispel Sunday morning.

I was telling the folks about you possibly going on the run up in MT and my mom said to tell you, if you do go, you need to swing down for a visit after the run.

We've got a RV dump and hookups for your motorhome... :ROFLMAO:

I'll have to see when I'm heading home and stuff. I've got a VA appointment on the 27th so I've got to be hone NLT the 26th but would like to be home on the 25th really so I've got a day to rest. I'll let you know.

Jeep is loaded and I'm 98% ready. Will do the last little bit in the morning. The new tie-down points I'd welded onto the trailer work great.

I bought a new electric fridge for this trip.

And it fits in the space behind my seat perfectly.

I got that fridge for Moab this year, it was pretty solid. Hope you have a good trip!

I like the battery that it has so it doesn't have to be plugged in. I'll run it plugged in most of the time but not having to is nice. I can carry water & soda & Gatorade in it...

I have my fingers crossed that I won't have any more issues and the Jeep does OK... Should be a good test for it.

Amazon of course didn't come through like they'd said they would... I'd ordered some Colby emergency valve stem repair kits & Glue Tread to bring on the trip... The Glue Tread arrived today like they said they would but the valve stem kit won't arrive until tomorrow.... And I can't wait for my mail to get delivered... It doesn't normally arrive until after 3PM or later.
Guess I'll just have to replace any that I might break. Wonder how long it'll take to breakdown one of my beadlocks.

Turned out it was a good thing that I'd put the Rain Cover on the Jeep since it was raining overnight. My current cover is getting OLD and I think it's about time to order a new one for the Jeep.

One ting about those Spyder Locks, the rock ring protects the valve stems. Fairly well protect from trail damage.
