I have a bad feeling about this.
This is an actual photo taken in 1949 after the huge blizzard that took Wyoming by surprise early in the year. The man is rancher Jack Welch out in his Jeep rescuing a calf. He also used his Jeep to rescue people stranded on the highway and to bring food and supplies to neighbors.

Saw this bird yesterday late afternoon on my dog walk. I saw it fly over me, seemed pretty large and impressive. It landed on a hillside next to me briefly, look like it grabbed a gopher. Then flew to the top of this pole to eat. My wife thinks it's a red tail hawk.
Size looks right for red-tailed hawk. Can't tell on coloring with a photo that dark. I think red-tailed are pretty common in your neck of the woods, too, so that seems plausible.
