Car pics too cool not to share

Plus overdrive with a second shifter.

AMC called it the "Twin-Stick".

The 67 Ambassadors we owned were just a year too early for A/C. I'm willing to bet that my folks would have been too cheap to use it if they did have it. Our 71 Ambassador ex cop car had it and when the Midwest summers became the Front Porch of Hell, you can bet that the A/C got used with that black interior.

Did the system freewheel in overdrive like a lot of O.D. setups in the 50's-60's ?

I've never actually owned a Twin-Stick setup, but I'd assume it to be no different than other AMC overdrives I've owned. If that's the case, then yes, they did freewheel.

*Just looked it up. Yep...they freewheeled.

The Chevy O.D. did the same thing , I don't care for that , since I live in the mountains . 2nd. and over would be cool in the Rockies !

So, just to be clear that would make it Mexican American Overdrive???

IFYKYK!!!

@Squatch look at that shiny paint. 600 hp and 1,500 lbs of twisties.

Ya know, I gotta figure out what the hell to do with my ‘89 dually. February 20th marks 2 years I’ve owned it, and I’ve put 103 miles on it since bringing it home. After having to have the transmission rebuilt (the oil cooler/heat exchanger failed and contaminated the transmission fluid, and the previous owner drove it like that for over a year), I just lost my enthusiasm for it. Less than 84K on the truck. I really should drive it.

It happens. @Squatch don't you have pretty much the same truck with 400K on it? You really should spend some time driving the 84K tuck to see if you like it. The good news is, if you don't, that generation of truck is really coming on in the market, and being a Cumminis, it would be no problem to sell. If you sell it, then you'll have some Furd fixin' money. Not enough to get the Ford out of it, but maybe enough to make it drivable. :sneaky:

@Squatch and I have already made an agreement. I'm going to teach him how to Belly Dance, and he's gonna give me that 84K truck...

Remember, keep your upper body relaxed, but with core engaged with Egyptian style shimmies. We're all looking forward to your practice video. ;)
