Aesthetics are lacking with modern vehicles. Some are ok, some are tolerable, lots are just a NO, like the whole "Predator" look that Toyota did...

I couldn't agree more . Most new cars are more capable in many ways , however exterior design is a major negative , they look like a dozen designers were each given 3 square feet of a car to design . Then the squares were assembled without any collaboration . A total crap fest . If I had to pick a 2025 vehicle on styling alone , a Mack Pinnacle truck doesn't make me throw up in my mouth. There may be some exotics that are okay , but I am not familiar with the newer genre .

Gov mandates became so much that NHRA rules say vehicles made 2008 and later no longer require a basic 4 point rollbar to run in the 11.99-10.00 second range. Vehicles made 2007 and earlier are required to have a 4 point to legally run in that time range. I think some vehicles made around 2015+ are even good to 9.00 without a rollbar all because gov regs have been pushed further.

Look at the size difference between these Civics, 2000 vs 2011. The newer one weighs about 500 lbs more, too.

Well, I like the looks of my 2024 Ram. Just as much as I like the looks of my 2005 Rubicon. I don’t like the looks of the newer Chevy and Fords. That's just me.

I'm absolutely joking about purchasing a Slate, as I have no interest in a fully electric vehicle. It's an interesting concept, but I have my doubts as to whether or not it will be successful. I see far too many people who would rather go into debt just to drive something that elevates their image. I don't see the Slate vehicles doing that.

Yep. Americans are far to effete for something like a Slate being a big hit. I do wish them well.
