Novak Conversions Jeep Wrangler TJ radiator

What did you do to your TJ today?

I have a failed check valve in my vacuum system. Does anybody know where I can find a part number for it. The service manual doesn't have part numbers listed for it. Thank you

I thought vacuum check valves were available generically at any auto parts store? I actually think I need to replace one of mine too, come to think of it...

Your profile says you have a 1997 that was a 2.5L but is now a 5.9L. Assuming that vacuum line is the original (from the 2.5), I think the Mopar part number can be found in the parts list, under option "J" for LHD and "EP0" for 2.5L:

Unfortunately, it looks like 55037393AC is discontinued, like many parts for our beloved TJs:

If just a check valve is needed, @B1Toad found that the Dorman universal one didn't work, but a Ford one was identical to the OEM Jeep one. See his thread here:

I went 4WDing to 4WD Park Adelaide yesterday. And got stuck on a steep incline because I ran out of clearance and stalled the engine. I decided to slowly roll back and as soon as I took my foot of the break the TJ rolled back. It was steep enough to roll back with first low still engaged. That let the engine start up immediately and I rolled down safely. That engine was running in reverse! I could hear it clearly, the timing chain made very unusual noises. I stopped that as soon as I came to a halt and switched it off. When I restarted the engine, it ran just fine. Only the vacuum hose popped off, noticeable by some loud hissing. Popped it back on and all was good.

I had no idea that this would even be possible!
