I wouldn’t be surprised if it passed either. This one is for you @StG58.

Most of the hunters I know do more for environmental conservation than any of these so-called "animal rights" people could even dream of.
They will be in support for banning hunting until they hit a deer every single night on their drive home from work. There is less hunting every year in my state, and deer populations are out of control. They casually graze in neighborhoods with zero fear of humans. Even in my own neighborhood, I can drive home during the middle of the day and there will be a herd of 5-10 of them just eating landscape shrubs in front of houses.
People also don't understand that being shot with a rifle or bow is the quickest death a deer will ever have. The only other options are starvation, freezing to death, disease, being eaten alive by predators, or hit by vehicles. IP68:

Being an Oregon native and born in Portland in the 60's, I've seen this great state go downhill due to the influx of big city Californians and other leftists bringing their corrosive views and policies to this state. Compounding the problem is common sense people leaving the state which concentrates the stupidity here.
Oregon went to mail in voting in the 80's and that was the last time a republican was elected governor. We now have a democrat super majority in the state house, senate and governorship. There's a concerted effort from the democrats with the help of outside money to ram through anything on their wish list, no matter how crazy it may seem. IP68 is just the latest example of an endless list of freedom grabbing actions.
Being both a fisherman and a hunter, it's a tough pill to swallow with the banning of things the left doesn't like. Guns have been a major battle here and fishing as well. Fishing catch limits have slowly been diminishing under the guise of climate change and other sorry excuses.
I could go on but you get the point......
I feel for you. With no hunting, there's no reason to own a gun is what happens next.

As said the population will explode in just a few years leading to increased wildlife collisions and the animals becoming more domestic as they push out into human populated areas. They won't like it when their auto insurance cost goes up, deer are eating all their landscape

Where in CT are you? I'm down near new haven but I dont really see many out and about.
I think you give those kind of people too much credit. They would never make the connections, or at least not admit it if they did.
Indeed. They aren’t intelligent or introspective enough to connect the dots.
And guess what else they can't figure out... The circle of life.
