Because I'll never run a hard top, and I'm considering how I might use the space under the rear seat (possible subwoofer enclosure build), I'm wondering if/how anyone else has raised their rear seat by 1" or so. I'm thinking about cutting some unistrut the full length of the seat brackets, coating them, and using them as spacers... unistrut is 1-5/8", though, too. What I don't know is what the hardware is (M10-1.5? I'll need them longer than whatever they are now); and the Jeep's currently in storage.
@JMT, others, how did you do it? Now that I'm thinking about it... I could probably build some mounting brackets/tie-downs into the spacers somehow to secure whatever I end up putting in there. I checked into how Tuffy does it, but it looks like it's integrated into their drawer.
EDIT: ...and then there's the seat belts. The female ends are already pretty short.
