Mine came in right at 3700 from no tax on overtime. That's how I got my LS swapped jeep

I owed a lot more this year and had to write a check. Less of a check than last year, but my income was also down a good bit so the proportional change was still an increase.
We withheld $ 1400.00 on IRA withdrawals and were refunded all of it . No taxes paid for Federal and CO for the first time ever . But , a special thanks to Woodrow Wilson and his democratic friends for trying to get my money . ( Of course now the Uniparty is everything in Washington there isn't much difference) .

Not much change here, my tax bill was a little less but only because my income dropped due to my vacancy rate being higher.

Over half of that is my wifes fault. She has needed to adjust her withholdings for at least 15 years and just doesent.
My withholdings are about right, but I have a fair amount of investment income.
My accountant says we should file quarterly but my wife says she cant come up with her half. So we will just keep doing it this way I guess
Owed 2700 this year. Didn't owe anything last year but this is the first filing jointly with my wife so I guess thats why.
$2k back this year from state and fed.....much better than the 26K we paid last year.
We are actually getting a little back as well, that will make up for these gas prices!

I've been there before. I think everybody should have to send in that big check each year and stop the withholding bullshit, then they'd know what taxes are really being paid. Like always I got my stuff to my guy a day or two before the deadline.
Somehow I "got back" about $2,000 last year, which my guy suggested we apply to this year, but I guess that was easier that sending that lump payment. 
We got a refund, smaller than usual. Normally, its about enough to pay the tax guy, this time it'll be enough to pay about 2/3rds of his bill.

Do you have complicated taxes or what? I obviously have pretty simple taxes so I just use TurboTax. Cost me about $60
I have complicated taxes - plus I have neither the ability nor the desire to do them myself. Been with the same accounting firm for over 40 years now - through 2 acquisitions and name changes. The last one bought out the still local version in California just a couple of years before I moved to Fla - so I was able to simply transfer my account to the Orlando office.
