Just took the top off to check out the frame and noticed a piece and/or bend point that my 98 didn't have. Did a replace-a-top of that one and plan to do the same with this. Only twill this time. Am I going to have any issues? Or does Bestop have a specific replacement for the 05+ (or whenever this was added to the frame)?

Looks like a Supertop. The portion above the front seats flips back without having to fold the entire top back. That Plastic sleeve slides over the pivot point when the top is closed and slides back to allow the front portion to fold back.
I've had both the standard and Supertop. It's been a while since I sold the standard top but I think the only differences in the fabric portion are the tabs that tuck into the trails above the doors are split on the Supertop while they're solid on the standard top, and the rear panels on the Supertop have plastic inserts to provide better structure in the rear corners.
I'd contact Bestop regarding replacement fabric options.

Will do. Was the supertop a factory option? Sorry if that's a silly question. I assumed this was a factory top because it is absolutely tattered. I'm noticing that you can't get a supertop in twill. Which sucks.

Not silly at all! It was, but I'm not 100% sure for which years and models. I bought mine used from the original owner of a 2006 Rubicon who had both hard and soft tops and didn't use the soft top. He said it came with his new. Don't know if it was standard on the Rubicons or an upgrade option.

I was able to track down an oem frame locally for $40. What does everyone think. Factory frame with twill replacement or wait for the super top twill?
The more rigid rear corners of my current Supertop allow less flapping at highway speeds than the standard top that came with the TJ. It's not uncommon to drive 1-2 hours on the freeway to a trailhead where I wheel, so this is nice. It's still a TJ with a soft top but slightly more muted.
The sunrider feature is really only good offroad at low speed. With windows in at anything over 30 mph, it billows and acts like a parachute. To me, it's more of a pain than it's worth. If I want the open air experience, I'd rather just go windows out safari style or full top down with the alien shade.
I was looking for tinted windows for my other top and just came across this one for sale for a ridiculously low price, so I grabbed it. It was virtually NIB with tinted windows; the sunrider feature was just a bonus.
Unless you think you'd like the sunrider feature specifically, I wouldn't pay the premium for the Supertop over a regular one.
Thanks. Since I apparently already have the super top frame. I might as well go with that. It looks like the replacement fabric and windows are the same cost either way. I like the idea of the more rigid corners. This will be my year round top (for now).
I’ve read some bad reviews on here about the super top frame. But those are more recent and maybe only related to the square back. This Frame is at least 6 years old (I think).
In that case, I'd do the same. Wasn't sure whether they sold the replacement top for both or just the standard top.
