Savvy TJ Corner Armor & Rock Sliders

Good Evening everyone , I was wanting to know if anyone would know the inside scoop on savvy since I am wanting to purchase the corner armor and sliders from them at some point if they ever come out with it . On my 06 TJ I have the 8 double adj arms , planning on doing the tummy tuck and oil pan trans skid too . I know they have both of them out for the LJ but I'm very surprised they haven't done the TJ yet

Well they had them listed for the TJ for a bit. I had a set on order for months and my date kept getting pushed further and further until they finally cancelled it. Even after being told that they were about to be cut. Just find something else like @Fluxor

hmm that's odd , I like fluxors stuff but I really like the savvy stuff better . I did get a chance to email Gerald from savvy and he said that they are working on them so I guess we'll see how true that is .

Good luck, him and Wes both told me the same. And that started in November. I think they finally cancelled the order in April. They said mine was one of two sets that were supposed to be cut like three days after an email.....lies.

The only reason I like the savvy sliders is because it’s got a small slider / step . Gerald said it can be used as a step . Plus I have short passengers too so I guess that could help them getting in lol

I hear you, but you might be waiting forever. Go for Fluxor and don't look back. Someone who cares about the TJ/LJ community.

I asked him if he could add a step onto the slider but he said inside it would be too low but I could give it a shot and go with fluxor. Does people at savvy not care about people in the TJ LJ community I’m assuming ?

They don't have a section for TJ's. I think they left that to Gerald. It's called Legacy I think. You'd need to talk to Gerald, but see above comments because it seems highly questionable what is going on?

I think I’m gonna go with Fluxor , the savvy stuff for emailing back and forth is too much work . I’m gonna see if Fluxor can do a special order with a step when I’m ready for sliders and corner armor

This is my personal opinion, but I have not considered my step on my red TJ to be that useful. I don’t use it getting in and I’m 5’6” on 35’s with proper 4+1.25” lift.

I sort of use it getting out.

On my Silver LJ on 37’s no step. I don’t really notice a difference.

Getting in the Jeep I usually step one foot in and climb in and getting out I hop out . My end goal for my Jeep is 35s . Currently I’m on 4inch rock jock / savvy lift

You should be good with no step. YMMV. This does not count as a step. It’s more of a stiffener.

Well that’s good then , no step the better ? Flux said step would be hard to put one in cad . Clean Jeep !

I'd say it's "incidental" and perhaps obstructive or destructive if you offroad. Mine had a step before, and by coming down hard on something it bent the slider back and the tub. I cut the step off (these were GR mini boatsides) and fabbed the stiffener rail.

Call it a rub rail. Because that is what it is. Savvy's is also a rub rail. It is not a step, regardless of what Gerald says it is.

If I needed a set of sliders that were not mini boatsides, I would look at Flux and add my own rub rail. I would also want full wheel well to wheel well coverage with the steel slider portion.

Are they both called rub rails? The ones that mount to the corner armor and wrap around the rear corner and the ones that go along the upper portion of the rock slider?

I’ve had sliders with a bar and have only ever used it as a step when trying to get in the back seat with the hard top on. Used it as a spot to collect my feet higher up before trying to squeeze my self behind the seat. Now that they’re gone I just use the door jam. Never would use the tube as a step getting in the front seats.
I’m installing flux sliders and will do a rub rail along the slider once he makes one for the purpose of a rub rail only. Flux hasn’t made a mini boat side for a tj yet and I wasn’t set on it enough to wait a super long time to guinea pig it. I have wondered why the stainless steel doesn’t go wheel well to wheel well but with highlines the front is.
