Hood wrap or decal?

Anyone know of a pre-made wrap or decal that covers most of the hood? I have paint damage, mostly on the hood. I've seen the decals that just cover the center of the hood. Any that cover all or most of the hood?

Also chime in if you've done a wrap of any kind. Curious how long they last. I was more interested until I found out that most only last a few years.

I've attempted a wrap on a golf cart before, and I have a partial hood wrap that was done professionally on my truck. I wouldn't attempt a DIY again, but I also just sucked at it.

I believe if you already have paint issues, you're going to run the risk of them telegraphing or, if it's peeling, running the risk of delamination of the wrap. I know longevity of the wrap is impacted by heat and UV, so an uninsulated TJ hood is probably about the worst candidate if it's a daily and not garaged.

Only if I can run a wire into the gas tank and make it a solar powered car.

Figured it might be better (and less expensive) to have the hood painted.

Getting a wrap done "professionally" cost almost as much as a paint job. I did the hood on my old Hyundai and wouldn't hesitate to do the easier lines of my TJ hood. The paint clearcoat was completely ruined and looked like total crap. Cost me $30 and 1.5 hours to get it right (bubble free). The new vinyl has the air release technology that makes it much easier. RVINYL has some good stuff. I just covered my TJ top fenders with their textured "indestructible" stuff for $15. I'm going to redo the center hood decal in the matching stuff.

I might consider that if it's that inexpensive. It's pretty much just the hood that would need to be done. Paint is faded in other places, but not as noticeable.

My car was still in great condition 7 years later.
