Is it possible to remove this hood dent?

I purchased my TJ last June and the previous owner said one day he came outside to find his hood was dented and had shoe prints on it leading him to believe some drunk idiots jumped on his jeep. Regardless how it happened, the dent is in a very awkward spot, right in the center where the hood support bracket is on the underside and where the paint is chipping in the photo. I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to fix it. I was even considering buying that poison spyder hood loover but I don't think even that would cover all of the dents...

My plan is to repaint/wrap the jeep the same color once I get the body work finished so any discussion on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

I've had good luck in that exact spot using a hot glue dent popper.

My wife pushed the button for the garage door opener when the Jeep was halfway out. It put a big nasty dent in the hood. I hired one of those dent removal guys to fix it. It is barely noticeable now.

It can be fixed. It will be expensive. Ask me how I know.

I suspect that the hood was not stepped on. If you raise the hood to rest it on the windshield, it hits pretty much right where that dent is. Is there one on the other side too? So frustrating.

Just that one side and some dents in the very center where that metal support is on the underside.. It did sound a little weird given the metal in that spot where the raised lip of the hood would be a very hard to dent that accurately with a shoe.

Yes, it can be fixed. Depending on how deep it is, you may want to pull it out some with a few studs (stud gun required, harbor freight sells them). Then scuff it up, apply some filler, sand, prime, paint and clear... Very manageable job. A perfect job if you want to learn bodywork basics... If you don't have the time, tools, space, then a body shop would do it for probably ~$300...

I was quoted $225 for a similar, but a little smaller, dent in that same spot.

I had dents on a 2001 TJ I had a few years ago. I ended up buying a replacement hood off the internet and having it painted the right color. It was actually not that expensive. Think I paid around $200 or $250 for the new hood which came primed. I concluded the dents I had would never really come out right and fixing was just as or more expensive then replacing. If I remember right there were a number of companies that make them, and it looked perfect when I was done. Dents like the one you have are a real bitch to get out right unless you go to a good body shop and they charge a bunch.

You could try this first, I've had success w/ it in the past, cheapest option. It may not work w/ the dent that's on that seam.

I tried this and made no difference whatsoever. I think it all depends on the type of metal and the place of the dent. A dent in that bent area of the hood is hard to repair according to the guy that gave me the quote.
