Yes. First because its cool to drive a jeep, second because its the best convertible to buy (well almost, there are a few I would consider equals), third cause my girls love it, and lastly it gives me the feeling of freedom (even on asphalt).

Define "road" and "offroad" first please. My TJ is the only way to get from point A to point B on a lot of the "roads" I travel. A pickup truck is too tall, too long and too wide, a Subaru Outback won't handle the "road" surface and various imperfections like blow down and drainage cuts, other 4x's are expensive to maintain and parts are hard to get. The TJ is perfect, even better than my old XJ's.
Now if offroad means no road then that's a different story.

Sounds to me like you live 'offroad', so you don't count...
Seriously, though, my definition would have been unpaved roads, taken as a choice, to get off the paved surfaces for exploration and such, not to get from point A to point B out of necessity. Most of us don't fit that category, but from your description, some do.
lol...I haven't counted in years! Just an odd duck in a very odd pond.
Well, the road from here to work is paved, and the road into town is mostly paved. Most of the mainline's are graded gravel and are pretty well maintained. The secondary roads are pretty well maintained, but carry a chainsaw in the winter and spring so you can clear blow down. Everything else, you're on your own. Lots of brush clearing and blow down cutting involved. Alders love to fall down and they never seem to fall down away from the road. You learn to drive over most everything under about 8 - 10" in diameter, or it is just too much of a pain in the backsides to go anywhere at times.
The wife spent a whole day tidying up the forest this weekend, until I finally told her that I wasn't going to pay for having the road paved just so oldest daughter could get her 4runner into camp. She's running 32's on the 4runner and had just a little trouble in a couple of spots getting into the log landing we were camped at. Nothing that stopped the show though.

I gave up a 2016 Tacoma to go back to the thrill of owning a Wrangler. I loved the Tacoma, but to be honest, driving it was boring. I have a 80 mile round trip commute, which I've done for over 7 years, and now it's actually fun again. Serious off-roading isn't my thing except if necessary. Playing in the snow is a different story. Love to tackle snow drifts!
This is why we always take the TJ when going downtown or anyplace else that's crowded or tight quarters.
Yup. Heck I havnt gone real technical off-roading in 2 years now due to moving out east again. Done a few trails in the woods I’ve found but they’re super mild to what I’ve done before. Going to try and find more trails this summer.
Open top and manual is still very fun on the road. Anything faster I would most certainly be getting tickets but I can drive it like I stole it and in 10 years of owning it I’ve never gotten a ticket. It’s also pretty practical with 4 seats and a hitch I have the ability to go biking, camping, the beach without a problem. A sports car is doing non of those.

If I'm being honest, probably not. I'd probably be more likely to be in a YJ or CJ if it was just a cruiser.

I still want a clean YJ as a cruiser anyway. I've always like YJ's. But being a 90's kid, they were really popular when I was young so I grew up seeing them everywhere.
