It was a useless feature built to enhance economical driving , basically it told you to short shift every shift unless the throttle is wide open .

My upshift light is mostly obscured by the steering wheel , I don't notice it.

For the amount of time that light is lit up on my dash I would think it would’ve burned out by now…nope, just every other part.
